Fresh Sliced Peaches

Grocery List or things you have to have on handRipe peaches, sugar or sugar substitute, powdered Vitamin C "produce protector"
Approximate Preparation Time:   15 minutes
Ease of Preparation:
If you have the knack of peeling peaches, this is very easy.  If you don't, it may take a little longer.
List of Ingredients
6 to 8 fresh ripe peaches
1 Tablespoon powdered Vitamin C
1/4 cup sugar or sugar substitute
Directions Peel and pit peaches.  Slice into sections vertically.  Sprinkle produce protector on each layer
as you are working to keep the peaches from turning dark.  When you have all the peaches sliced, sprinkle sweetener over the top and stir to mix.
Hints, Tips and Variations:   There's nothing better than fresh, ripe peaches.  They look pretty and are oh so good over ice cream or on cereal.   You can use them for a multitude of things.  You can eat them plain, put them in cobbler, blenderize them and put them in drinks and do anything else your imagination dictates.  They combine well with other fruits in fruit salad.  A peach is ripe when it emits a strong, peachy fragrance and is soft but not mushy.
Good Cooks Tell All:   Fresh sliced peaches are always a hit in the summertime.  We live near Porter, Oklahoma and they produce some of the world's finest peaches.   Peaches are a simple way to please your family and guests.  Some like them with main dishes and some like to save them for dessert with whipped topping.

It's not really a recipe; it's just something you do that keeps people saying "yum".
